These are some of my photos. They include my first stay in Edinburgh, my trip away to continental Europe, and my return to Edinburgh, sans argent. This way, I can have access to them and still send the paper copies home to save weight. Also, there are sketches from my journal and photos of hostel art (some of it now mine!) in the artwork page. P Party!! Alissa, as the Ghost of Christmas Pasta, gaining one of my two votes for best costume. The other goes to George, below, in her Pixie costume, featuring real ivy. Swedish Goodbye Party We had a three day party when Ylva & Annica left. The photos keep coming in, and man, are they incriminating, so they get isolated. Edinburgh and Area I even have some photos from outside the hostel, just to prove that I do go out from time to time. Highland Tour A slowly growing collection of photos from my 7-day highlands tour. Italy (etc.) I spent a month travelling in Italy, and a few days in some other places, so this is where the photos will slowly begin to appear. Sweden (etc.) Orkney, Belgium, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, France, and Holland: I've been to these places, but the photos are only to come in slowly. Back in Edinburgh I am now back in Edinburgh, and so this is a new page for more recent goings on. Hawaiian Crossdressing We decided to have another party. Just the usual stuff: £10 worth of random cocktail and a Hawaiian skirt and boobs on every guy. Nothing unusual Stu's Random European Moments Angst, Advice, Alcohol, Amusements, Absinthe, 'Angover, Agencies, Athletics, 'Arvey, Adieus, Apnea... It's all here in my friend, and ex-roommate, Stu's thoughts on his European Adventures. Stu's thematic descriptions of everyday life at Princes St. nicely complement the disjoint episodes captured on film on my web site. Be warned, though: Stu's writing shoots from the lip, if you can't handle the occasional expletive or blasphemy, just stick to the photos over here, and ignore the man behind the curtain (or occasionally passed out on a bench in the main bathroom). Sean's Website, with Photos and Hostel Music! It's funny, but I keep meeting really decent Americans in my time here. Sean is one of those. Now returned to our fair native continent, he spent a great deal of time here and was one of the group of musicians that made the Cave rock for months on end. On his site, you'll find photos of his time here, his travels around Europe and Africa, and also a few recordings of his music from the Cave Sessions album that was recorded at the hostel. Jaime's Pictures No pictures from the hostel here (except one of Pascal playing in the Cave), but plenty of good photos from Orkney and a few other places in the UK, and some beautiful photos from her friend's wedding. The Virtual Blackboard Want to know what's happened the last few days at the hostel? Who's shagging who? Whose feet stink? Where we're all going to drink tonight? Want to laugh at the abuse heaped on the residents? Want to crack some back yourself? Then the virtual blackboard is for you! Retro Party!

It seems like only a month since the last party... no wait it has been. First it was meant to be Sci-Fi, then Animals, but eventually, we settled on Retro. Dax as Jimi Hendrix, Stu as Gene Simmons, and Nathan and Dan as the Blues Brothers. What better lineup could you ask for?

Life in the Post-Georgian Era

All good things must come to an end...

After lots of good times, both remembered and lost in the mists of alcohol, Georgie and Christian headed on their merry way back to Oz.

I am happy to report that Georgie still occasionally calls us, sloshed off her box, and rambles incoherently and foul-mouthedly for hours on end. We miss her, but we know she's well in hand, and so we look to ourselves and try to live up to Georgie's beacon of Slobbering Incapacity, in this, the Post-Georgian Era...

A Whole New Year at Princes Street

2003 came in with a bang, which then signally failed to appear in any form on this site until now. 10 months of laziness...

I actually got out of the hostel, I swear it!

Stockholm, Amsterdam, Stirling, Fort William, Skye... I actually travelled a little bit early in the year. Later, there may also be photos from Pitlochry, Coventry, Ireland (yes, finally! It *will* happen!), and who-knows-where else.

Here, you will find sketches from my journal, and pictures of art that I thought was neat. For now, this is going to be murals from the hostel walls, but I think I'll include some things I saw in Italy, too. Obviously, no renaissance paintings.

Reception WebCam!

Want to know what's happening right this instant in the hostel? We've got a web camera installed in reception. Often, you'll just see new people checking into the place, but in the evenings and early mornings, parties tend to move interchangeably between reception and the dining room.
